What is MoorTime?
MoorTime is a platform that connects boaters with dock and mooring owners, making it easy to find and book short-term and long-term mooring spaces. Whether you need a dock slip for a few hours or a mooring for a season, MoorTime simplifies the process.
How does it work?
Boaters can browse available docks and moorings, submit a reservation request, and securely book through the app. Dock and mooring owners (hosts) can list their spaces, set availability, and accept reservations.
Is MoorTime available in my area?
You can search for available docks and moorings in your location through the app. If you don't see options nearby, encourage local mooring and dock owners to join!
For Guests
As a renter, what should I do before arrival?
Review your reservation details and check the listing for specific instructions. Make sure you understand tide conditions, depth requirements, and any local docking regulations.
What happens if I'm running late or need to adjust my arrival time?
Reservation times are set from 7 AM on the day of arrival to 7 AM on the departure date. You can arrive anytime between those times, but you will be charged for the full timeframe regardless of your actual arrival or departure time.
How do I know if my boat will fit in a listed dock or mooring?
Each listing provides details on maximum boat size, depth, and other requirements. Make sure your boat meets these specifications before booking.
Can I extend my rental period?
You will have to book a new reservation for the extended time you want if the dock or mooring is available at that time.
What if I encounter an issue with my mooring or dock space upon arrival?
If something isn’t as described, reach out to MoorTime support for assistance.
What should I do when I leave the mooring or dock?
Follow any departure instructions from your host, remove any trash, and leave the space in the same condition as when you arrived.
For Hosts
As a host, what should I do before guests arrive?
Ensure the dock or mooring is clear, accessible, and safe for arrival. Provide clear instructions on location, access, and any specific docking or mooring procedures.
Can I set restrictions on the type of boats I accept?
Yes, you can specify boat size, type, and any other restrictions in your listing.
How do I get paid?
We process all payouts through Stripe, a secure and reliable payment platform. You can access and manage your connected Stripe account directly through the app to track payments and withdrawals.
Can I require a security deposit?
No, you cannot require a security deposit at this time.
What should I do if a guest doesn’t follow my rules or causes damage?
Report any issues through the app as soon as possible. If damage occurs, MoorTime’s support team can help mediate disputes.
How do I switch my listings to inactive?
You can update your listing’s status in the app by navigating to your listing and marking it as hidden. This removes it from search results until you reactivate it.
How should I price my listing?
Consider local demand, amenities, and comparable listings. MoorTime provides market insights to help you set competitive pricing.
Policies & Booking
What is the cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy allows full refunds for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the booking start time.
I just submitted my reservation request. When will I know if my request is confirmed?
Most hosts respond within 24 hours. If your request is accepted, you’ll receive a confirmation and payment will be processed. If declined or unanswered, you won’t be charged.
What happens if the weather prevents me from using my reservation?
If severe weather prevents you from using your reservation, you may cancel up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the reservation start time will be charged in full, regardless of whether you arrive or not.
